Westerleigh Group announced it has given a £10k gift to Southmead Hospital Charity.
Westerleigh Group is a UK owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 36 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales.
According to the group, the money will be used by the palliative and end-of-life care team at the hospital to help provide valuable support to patients and their families.
Jana Smidkova, head of marketing at Westerleigh Group, said: “The grief of losing a loved one is one of the hardest things to come to terms with in anyone’s lifetime.
“We wanted our donation to Southmead Hospital Charity to support those approaching the end of their lives, as well as their grieving families. We understand how important it is for them to make special memories of their final moments together and, where possible, give them some level of comfort during such difficult times.”
Adrian Brown, community and events manager at Southmead Hospital Charity, added: “It’s widely known that hospitals are where people come to get better. But it’s also about providing a dignified, comfortable end of life experience, and supporting families through their bereavement and beyond.
“It’s something we’re so proud to support, and we couldn’t do it without the generosity of incredible donors like Westerleigh Group. Their support means so much to us, to our staff and most importantly, to the patients and their families who will hugely benefit from this generous donation.”
