Peter Gibson, the head coachman for T Cribb and Sons Carriages has been recognised with a 2018 Carriage Driving award.

Gibson and the company were named Commercial Operator of the Year at the inaugural ceremony which took place on Friday 6 July 2018 at The Corn Exchange Devizes.

T Cribb and Sons Carriages was recognised for being largely responsible for reintroducing the spectacle of horse-drawn funerals in London’s East End in the 1980s. They have more than 16 horses stabled at the Cribb family farm in Essex.

The horses work in a pair or as a team of four and the company also provide carriages for events. T Cribb and Sons Carriages also have a history of success in competitive carriage driving.

Karen Bassett Carriage Driving came in second place for the award, followed by The Horse Drawn Carriage Company who were third place.
