Hull City Council has launched several affordable funeral packages designed to maintain professional standards while reducing overall costs.
The news coincides with the unveiling of a new webpage designed to assist Hull residents with arranging funerals for friends or family members.
The local authority offers two specific packages including attended and unattended cremations. These services are conducted at Chanterlands Crematorium, located next to Northern Cemetery, ensuring that deceased residents remain within the city.
Prices for the funeral packages begin at £850. This fee includes the services of a bereavement officer who manages all necessary arrangements.
Staff are also available to provide advice regarding government financial support for those struggling with funeral costs.
Ted Dolman, portfolio holder with responsibility for crematoria and cemeteries at Hull City Council, said: “Our experienced, dedicated and sympathetic bereavement officers help to create a respectful, caring and personalised farewell, all at an affordable price.
“It’s also important to be clear to the people of Hull that all arrangements for these funerals can take place in the city, including cremation at Chanterlands Crematorium, which is a peaceful and pleasant place to remember or pay tribute to someone.”
