Visitors to a recent Reading-based performance of Much Ado About Nothing may have noticed an unusual prop – a coffin. The item was supplied by funeral directors A.B. Walker & Son after the company was approached by the Reading Between The Lines Theatre Company. It is used during a scene that features a grand military funeral

Julian Walker, Managing Director of Reading Funeral Directors, A.B. Walker and Son said: ‘We are proud to be part of the local community in Reading and we were pleased that we could help to make this production a success.’ Toby Davies, Company Director of Reading Between the Lines Theatre Company, commented: ‘It is lovely that a local business is so supportive of the arts in Reading. The funeral is an absolutely stunning moment in the play.’
