Six funeral arrangers from Essex have achieved the B-Tec Advanced Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration.
Colleagues Sarah Waldron, Lynda Brown, Michelle Harriss, Joanne Saunders, Laura Redfield and Kara Dewson all took just over one year to earn the qualification, which covers all aspects of the role, such as funeral laws and customs, funeral arranging, and caring for the deceased.
“I knew that funeral arranging would fulfil me as I would be helping families to say goodbye to their loved ones in the best possible way. Supporting grieving families in the making of important choices, gives them the chance to grieve and celebrate a life more, which is a privilege to do,” commented Joanne.
Laura said of her job: “When my husband joined the clergy and I saw him conducting funerals I knew that was the career for me. It is an absolute privilege to work for the Co-operative Funeralcare and be here to support people from all walks of life during their time of grief. Each day gives me more experience and I genuinely enjoy every challenge.”
Kara aspires to be a funeral director and said of her role: “I feel that the job, which actually I would rather prefer to call a vocation, is so rewarding, from meeting the families to guiding them through the process of funeral arranging.”
