Murray’s Funeral Directors has confirmed its support of Burton Albion Football Club with a new sponsorship agreement.

The funeral provider has agreed to remain an official sponsor for League One Burton Albion, in order to uphold its long history of supporting the club and the Burton Albion Community Trust.

Murray’s, which is part of Funeral Partners, was also the first company to hold a funeral service at the club’s Pirelli Stadium in 2019, with the ground’s facilities still regularly used for wakes.

The stadium is in very close proximity to the funeral provider’s branch on York Street.

Sue Barke, business principal at Murray’s Funeral Directors, said: “We are so happy to support the club – it is an integral part of Burton. The football club, and the youth team, are obviously both hugely important, but the club facilities get used for so many different things.

“They were so crucial during the Covid-19 pandemic when the Pirelli Stadium was used as a testing site, and today it is still used for vaccinations. It is also an important venue in the town for other important community events.”

She added: “We are regularly asked to add Albion themed touches to funerals, such as using the club’s famous yellow and black colours or people requesting for their loved ones to be dressed in a suit with a club tie. It’s a real point of pride for us to give our clients their exact wishes.”
