Lee Snashfold, the managing director of Lee Snashfold Crematoria Management and Consultancy Ltd, has been presented with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at this year’s Good Funeral Awards.

The finalists for this category included Dr Chantal Lockey, founder of The Foundation for Infant Loss Training; Carolyne Reeve, bereavement services Middlesbrough; and Jeanette Holman, a funeral orator based in Cornwall

Having worked in bereavement services for 43 years, Snashfold has provided assistance to crematoria and cemeteries throughout the UK with emergency cover for key members of staff.

The company also provides consultancy services on all aspects of crematorium operations. Currently, Lee Snashfold is a consultant on his 22nd new build crematorium.

Snashfold said: “I am proud and very humbled to be awarded this year’s ‘Lifetime Achievement award’ at the Good Funeral Awards. It means so much to have my lifetime work of 43 years serving the bereaved recognised. One of the proudest moments of my career thus far.

“Thank you so much to all who took the trouble to write such complimentary things about the service we offer. I had overwhelming support and I am grateful to all of you. Congratulations to all winners of the other categories this evening.”

The awards ceremony, which is organised by the Association of Green Funeral Directors (AGFD), was held at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Saturday 14 September.
