Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium in Hatfield has received a Green Flag Award for its green spaces.

The Green Flag Award scheme is managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

It recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.

Paul Todd MBE, Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award Scheme manager, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone involved at Oak Hill on achieving a Green Flag Award.

We know that staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that it maintains the high standards of the Green Flag Award, everyone involved should feel extremely proud of their achievement.”

Cllr Jane Quinton, deputy leader and executive member for Leisure and Community at Welwyn Hatfield Council, added: “Oak Hill provides a special place for us to celebrate and remember our loved ones. I am delighted our beautiful gardens have been recognised for this award.”
