James and Thomas Funeral Directors in the village of New Haw, Surrey, has provided a local church with a much-needed cycle rack.

The gesture is meant to underline the long-established funeral provider’s commitment to their community.

Funeral arranger Anne Rowe organised for the bike rack to be purchased following a request from the nearby All Saints Church.

Surrey County Council also helped with the installation via their Your Fund Surrey Small Community Projects fund.

The new cycle rack will allow churchgoers somewhere safe and secure to leave their bikes.

According to Rowe, she was delighted to help provide the church with something they require.

She said: “It’s very important for us to be a big part of our community, to help out where needed and be a friendly and familiar face in the area.

“We’ve had great reports that it is already being well used by people who are visiting the church.”

James and Thomas Funeral Directors is part of the Funeral Partners network, a group committed to supporting the communities they serve.
