ICCM appoints new president and deputy chief executive

Marian Millington was previously the deputy president of the organisation, while Mathew Crawley has progressed from funeral director to bereavement services manager

The ICCM has announced the appointment of Marian Millington as the organisation’s new president and Mathew Crawley as the new deputy CEO at its AGM during this year’s learning convention and exhibition.

Millington, who has been promoted from her former role of deputy president for the ICCM, has worked within the bereavement sector for over 13 years.

During her career, she undertook management of both cemeteries and crematoria and participated in various projects, from revision administration processes and practices to establishment of new cemeteries.

Meanwhile, Crawley brings over 25 years of experience in the bereavement services sector. He has progressed from a funeral director to a cemetery, crematorium and bereavement services manager, having undertaken many service-specific roles in between.

He previously served as the deputy president of the ICCM from 2016 to 2017. He then stepped down from this position to join the ICCM officer team full time as its technical and member services officer to assist like-minded professionals to perform to the highest standards through training and mentoring.

The new role will see Crawley providing support to the chief executive, Julie Dunk, in representing the bereavement sector at government level and developing new initiatives for members.

Dunk said: “I was delighted to be able to announce Mathew’s promotion to deputy chief executive to members at our annual learning convention and exhibition, and to see Marian formally inducted as President at our AGM.

“We have an ambitious programme of objectives to develop our member services and to represent their interests to the government and across the wider sector. Mat and Marian’s skill sets and experience will be crucial in helping me to achieve these objectives.”
