Tributes enhances Wooden Heart Keepsakes collection

Tributes, a West Sussex based supplier to the funeral sector, has announced that its Wooden Heart Keepsakes will now be carved from beech.

According to the group, beech offers a “fine, straight and even grain”, ensuring a “much more high-quality finish, and a beautiful foundation for engraving”.

Tributes’ Wooden Hearts are part of the company’s keepsake range of memorial products, designed to “hold in the palm of the hand to keep a comforting reminder of a loved one close by”.

Each keepsake has been designed to discreetly hold a tiny quantity of ashes, along with photos and other small mementoes and can be personalised with engraving of motifs, messages and dates.

The design of the heart urn slides open with a rotating action and has a discreet and secure magnetic “click” closure. Mementos are protected beneath clear perspex screens and can be concealed by placing a photo or personalised plaque above.

The move to beech supports Tributes’ sustainability goals, with the group claiming the consistency of the finish helps to “significantly” reduce wastage. The product is also now supplied in a totally biodegradable natural card recycled box, in a move away from the original coloured packaging which contained ink and was covered in a thin plastic film.

Tori Bush, sales director at Tributes, said: “We’re always looking for innovative ways to improve our products and these updates to our timeless and popular Heart Keepsake – which were first designed and created in-house – enable us to create a higher quality finish, and help meet our environmental objectives.

“More and more families are looking for ways to memorialise someone they’ve lost, and find it comforting to place a small amount of ashes in a keepsake which they can keep close by. We’re very proud to offer these items which help support families at very difficult moments.”
