The Bereavement Services Portal, the UK-based directory of cemeteries, crematoria and natural burial grounds, is celebrating its 15th year of service.

The free portal was launched in 2004 and holds the details of almost 1,000 public and private operators in the funeral trade which represent nearly 4,000 sites. It is used by mourning families and funeral professionals alike to assist in making arrangements at sites which may be less familiar to them.

Users are able to search burial grounds by county, operator, cite or manager name and gain access to information such as the site’s maximum coffin width allowance and available service times. Clients can also browse the addresses of registrars through the directory which is regularly updated by operators.

The portal is owned by The Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium and managed by ASSETtrac Ltd.
