‘My Way’ is once again topping the Co-Op’s funeral music chart following a break in 2014.
Co-op Funeralcare’s2016 funeral music chartshave revealed top music choices, following a study of 30,000 funerals in the UK.
The charts began in 2002 and have been released bi-annually since. This year has seen a break through for artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Rihanna and Adele, with their tracks appearing as new entries in the ‘contemporary pop’ category.
The survey’s Funeral Music Chart places the following tracks in the overall top ten for 2016:

3Over the rainbow, Eva Cassidy
4Wind beneath my wings, Bette Midler
5The lord is my shepherd, Psalm 23/ Crimond

8Always look on the bright side of life, Monty Python
9Abide with me, Traditional
10Unforgettable, Nat King Cole
The research, which was conducted among 300 of Co-op’s funeral directors and arrangers in July 2016 based on funerals from last 12 months, found thatRobbie William’s Angels, topped the contemporary pop chart. Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven was number one in the rock chart andGerry and the Pacemakers’ You’ll never walk alone led the pack in the sport category.
