A funeral directors in Glasgow has come to the rescue of a local school following an appeal to help fund a school trip.
Anderson Maguire Funeral Directors has donated £500 to a trip for the pupils of Castlemilk High School so that they can fund a residential trip to the Camas Centre on Mull. The centre aims to provide a safe haven for individuals along the west coast of Scotland, giving them the opportunity for personal and spiritual development.
Chairman of Anderson Maguire, Dom Maguire, said: “We have a dedicated Anderson Maguire Community Outreach committee and when we received this appeal from Castlemilk High School, we were delighted to be in a position to help these school children obtain a really worthwhile experience.”
Rev Sarah Brown, school chaplain at Castlemilk High School, added: “We didn’t receive the funding we needed in time and we were in a position where we were going to have to cancel the trip if we didn’t get external resourcing. Thanks to Anderson Maguire and a number of other individuals, the trip went ahead and proved to be very successful.”
