Alan Slater MBE, who retired as CEO of the National Association of Funeral Directors in 2015, is to become the FFMA’s first ever chief executive.
Alan, who headed up the NAFD for 16 years and entered the funeral sector in 1999, has recently been working with the Association by assisting in the preparation of their Strategic Business Plan which will be presented to the membership at the FFMA’s AGM on 1 November.
Alan states that he is delighted to have been asked to implement the plan which will develop the FFMA into a modern trade association supporting all companies that provide products and services to the funeral sector.
David Crampton, who has held the position of national president for the past 17 years, is retiring and will be succeeded by 1st vice president, Alan Daws.
Mr Daws, on behalf of the national committee, will acknowledge the massive contribution made over many years by David Crampton at the forthcoming Membership Meeting. He added that there would be exciting times ahead for the FFMA as it takes a far more proactive role within the sector.
